I know I’m a bit late since it’s already November 4th, but I just found out that November is touted as National Gratitude Month. I thought this would be a great topic of discussion with everything going on in our country and also in our world. Gratitude is defined in the dictionary as “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” Research and studies show that people that regularly practice gratitude in their life, tend to lead happier, healthier lives. Showing gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease stress, and drastically improve our overall level of health and wellbeing. (?!) Read that again. I think we all need to enhance our moods and decrease our stress! Am I right?

When gratitude is expressed, people stop focusing on the negatives and begin to realize all the positives that are around them. Practicing gratitude is more than just saying thanks. It’s expressing kindness to others, showing appreciation when needed, and also being thankful and showing thanks, for all that is given.

This year has been rough, to say the least. I don’t think there is anyone in this country or in this world that would say otherwise. Suffering through a global pandemic, dealing with unemployment, and now having an election that will take weeks to find out who will be the true President of the United States is a bit nerve-wracking for sure. So, in times like these, when everything is out of our control, let’s practice gratitude. Spread love, light, positivity, and search for all the good and beautiful things this world has to offer.

Join me in taking time every day- morning or night whichever is easier- and write down all the wonderful things you are grateful for. Show kindness to people, spread joy rather than doom and gloom. In doing so, check-in and see how your mood shifts and see if more positivity comes back to you.

Tag me in your gratitude posts, and let’s spread some love and light! Number one thing that we’re all grateful for right now—-? 2020 is almost over!
