I thought I would start out by introducing myself, my name is Lisa and I am a licensed aesthetician in a plastic surgery office, a certified makeup artist specializing in weddings and bridal makeup, and a certified personal trainer. I actually created the name live beautifulli way back in August of 2010. I was in makeup school at Chic Studios in Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY and one of our first assignments was to create a business name for our potential makeup business. I wanted to be creative and different and not be cliché by choosing Makeup by Lisa, or Lisa’s Makeup, (not like there’s anything wrong with those, I just wanted to stand out), so I thought of how much I love working out and doing makeup, and thought maybe one day I can create a brand that described everything I love and not pigeonhole myself into just one passion. So, I came up with “live beautifulli” and decided to spell it with “li” instead of “ly” as a slight homage to my name. My teacher thought it was great, and the name stuck. The years following my makeup certification, I went to school and obtained my personal training certification, and then went to aesthetician school to be a licensed aesthetician in New Jersey; all while working full time in a dermatology office and doing makeup on the weekends. I’ve always been a very passionate person, and I find that I can never just pick one passion to stick with. So, flash forward to today and here I am writing my first blog post for live beautifulli, a brand that will focus on all things I love and am passionate about, such as skin care, makeup, working out and living a healthy lifestyle. My hope in this blog is to bring you my thoughts and opinions on all things related to “living beautifulli,” because there’s no better way to live.
